Loaches are must have bottom dwellers in a community tank. Some loaches also eat snails making them a good option for snail population control in planted tanks. Loaches are usually kept in groups as they have complex social behavior & hierarchy. Below information will help with Aquarium care & tank set up guidelines.
About the Video -
The loach fish seen in the Video are called Lepidocephalichthys guntea or L guntea. I have 7 of them.
These fish are Native to India, Bangladesh, Nepal & Myanmar. Like the Weather Loach these fish also get hyper active before storm & swim wildly. Otherwise you would find them hiding or simply lying down. These loaches are also food source consumed both dry & fresh. They are egg layers, however I never experienced breeding in any of my tanks nor seen or heard of captive breeding.
Lifespan is 5 years or more
Males are smaller than Female Loach

Water parameters
Temperature range - 68° to 77°F ( 20 – 25 °C)
pH range - 6.0 to 8.0
Water Hardness - Soft to Hard
Tank Decor -
Sand for tank bottom, Rocks & drift wood can be used along with floating plants. These loaches burrow themselves in sand, so stones or rocks needs to be placed around the plant roots to avoid uprooting. They can vanish for days buried in sand when they feel threatened.
Food -
I feed sinking pellets, vegetables like cucumber,zucchini, boiled peas, Bloodworms, daphnia etc
Tank mates -
I had them Blue Gourami's, dwarf gourami's, platies, mollies, guppies without any problem. These fish did not even go after molly fry in the tank.
