Basic Information about Orange Chromide (Etroplus maculatus)
This fish is native to India & Sri Lanka. Orange chromides natural habitat includes both Brackish & Freshwater. In case if its a freshwater Orange Chromide below information will help. captive bred Orange chromide lacks the black spots. The orange chromide in the video are captive bred but have their natural colors. Males are little bigger & lack white lines on their caudal fin, whereas females have white lines on their caudal fin, Male orange chromide fish are more greyish yellow in color & females are more yellowish orange.

Orange Chromide Aquarium care Guide -
Tank Size - 20 gallon for Breeding pair & 40 gallon for community tank
Temperature range - 72° to 82°F (22– 28 °C)
pH range - 7.5 – 8.5
Water Hardness - 10 to 20 dGH
Food - Orange Chromide's are Omnivores, they accept readily available fish food like pellets, flakes, freeze dried worms & live food like daphnia, mosquito larve etc
Tank mates - at least 8 orange chromides other Less aggressive fish like Mollies, Swordtail, Zebra Danio, Rasbora, I had no issues with yellow Lab Cichlid as well.
Tank decor - Sand for tank bottom, rocks for hiding places, plants & driftwood can be used , make sure the water is more alkaline & never acidic for orange chromides.
